If you, or someone you know, are looking to increase the value of your/their house before selling it… it might be disappointing news to find out that the vast majority of hired-out improvements will not even return a full dollar for every dollar spent. This is especially true in this market where a decent – and available – contractor is hard to come by. While it’s generally true that a renovation will increase the likelihood the property will sell… in this seller’s market, it makes no financial sense.
